BERKLEE INSTITUTE OF JAZZ AND GENDER JUSTICE
JAZZ WITHOUT PATRIARCHY PROJECT, 2021 – Ongoing
“What would jazz sound like in a culture without patriarchy?”
Gender equity in the jazz field is at the heart of the Jazz Without Patriarchy Project. With Terri Lyne Carrington in the lead (who also founded the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice in 2018) the project encompasses books, performances, curriculum, a digital archive and an exhibit set to debut at the Henry Ford Museum next year.
The poster was created based on a sketch by Terri Lyne Carrington. This drawing later became the basis for the logo and how the rest of the presentations were designed.
